Stephen Lairmore is a seasoned entrepreneur and corporate finance executive with over 45 years of experience in the investment industry, including three decades focused on private equity and venture capital consulting. As a respected investment professional, Stephen has built a global network of over 750 venture capital and private equity firms across the United States, Europe, and Asia. His consulting work has supported a broad spectrum of early- and later-stage private companies.
Driven by the belief that business can be a force for good, Stephen merges a passion for investment with a strong commitment to social and environmental impact. His professional philosophy emphasizes purpose-driven growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Stephen brings hands-on, results-oriented leadership to each engagement. His core competencies include finance, fund raising, marketing, business development, strategic planning, and enterprise optimization. He primarily facilitates investor introductions and strategic guidance for non-publicly traded companies, aiming for transformative growth and successful exits within a 3–5-year horizon. A true generalist, Stephen has worked across diverse industries including consumer goods, internet, software, healthcare, media, and innovative business services. In addition to his private equity work, Stephen expanded his practice into commercial real estate through Viking International Investment Real Estate & Financial Services, a boutique firm based in Newport Beach, California. Viking specializes in investment properties, multi-family portfolios, land development, senior housing, NNN properties, distressed assets, and structured financing. The firm maintains extensive nationwide and international affiliations. Stephen’s long-standing relationship with Viking’s founder, John Zarvos—dating back to the early 1980s—has been instrumental in aligning their shared vision for real estate investment and development. Earlier in his career, Stephen founded, capitalized, operated, and successfully exited three securities brokerage firms--Newport Asset Management, The Sage Group, and Opex International—each with more than 100 employees. He was also a frequent market analyst and forecaster on Financial News Network (FNN), reaching over 40 million households in the late 1980s. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science from MERU Research University in Seelisberg, Switzerland. He splits his time between California and France, where he lives with his wife, a French national, and their two sons. |
